How cool is that??
According to information passed along to Uncle Dan, the Babcock's started with five brothers that immigrated here from England. Two of the five stayed on the East coast (presumably Virginia) and then the other three went to Michigan where they had a prosperous Babcock farm. Unfortunately the farm also came with a lot of drama I guess because one of them left to travel farther westwards to Washington.
According to the census from the Lange's research , Ethan and Benjamin Jr. were born in New York but moved to Van Buren County, Michigan to farm. Charles Henry Babcock, son of Benjamin Babcock Jr., was born in Michigan, as were his children. Leon Amos Babcock (of Charles Babcock, of Benjamin Jr, of Benjamin Sr.) moved to Bellevue, WA where his kids were born.

very cool! a little piece of miscellaneous history from my dad:
The Babcocks started with five brothers that immigrated here from England. Two of the five stayed on the East coast (presumably Virginia) and then the other three went to Michigan where they had a prosperous Babcock farm. Unfortunately the farm also came with a lot of drama I guess because one of them left to travel farther westwards to Washington. Which is where we came from! I'm pretty sure that's what he told me. He also told Aunt Pat the other weekend
