Welcome to the Republican Party

Welcome to the Republican Party

(not my situation, it was an email forward, but still funny)

I was talking to this little girl, Catherine, the daughter of some friends, and she said she wanted to be President someday.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there with us and I asked Catherine, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?'

Catherine replied, 'I would give houses to all the homeless people.'

'Wow, what a worthy goal you have there, Catherine.' I told her, 'but you don't have to wait until you're President. You can start now by coming over to my house and cleaning up all the dog poop in my back yard and I will pay you $5 dollars. Then we can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $5 dollars to use for a new house.'

Catherine (who is about 4) thought that over for a second, while her mom looked at me seething, and Catherine replied, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog poop and you can just pay him the $5 dollars?'

'Ah', I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party'.

Global Warming? Really??

It's July 31st. It's summer. It's supposed to be 77+ degrees. It's 61 degrees...and raining.

Oh Prophet Al Gore, where art thou wisdom? Give us our daily wisdom and explain such a miracle of the reversal of Global Warming. You are the all knowing one! It must be a true miracle!

I'm so ready for summer and summer is almost over.

Ouch and sore

It's been a crazy last couple days fulls of jet skiing, boating, swimming, wakeboarding, and floating against the current. And my crazy cousins and I just returned from a very interesting game of bowling. Christina is making Andrea and I our winner star badges. She lost the bet and Andrea and I tied so we both get winner stars. :)

Yesterday was full of misadventures. Cousins and I thought it was be a Very Good Idea to take the three person tube and float down a few houses and ask if we can jump on their water trampoline. The wind was picking up so we had to paddle, Andrea using her arm on the right, me on the left, and Christina sliding back to kick her feet. The wind had picked up pretty good by then and kept pushing us toward the shore so after a paddling and kicking hard, we decided we'd had enough and called for our nearby relative to pull us back using the jet ski. She couldn't get the jet ski started but the neighbor heard us and hook up the tube to the boat and pulled us back. It was fun and nice to get a ride back but we didn't have life jackets on and he was driving a little crazy. But it was oh so fun!

The Torrey family came up to visit so it was nice to meet some long lost relatives. I never knew my grandmother had brothers, much less nieces and nephews. So it was a nice reunion. We even got a couple of them to play card games with us and try the hookah.

My dad and aunt have a tradition at reunions to say that their mom loves one of them more than the other but loves Robin more than the both of them combined. So we started something of a sort like that with the cousins. We decided that Shannon, Robin's daughter, was the favorite. We have been having so much fun with that! For example, Andrea brought back a wind chime from Dubai and hung it up outside. She looked at it forlornly saying that it doesn't chime. Christina replies with, "Shannon's wind chime would chime" followed by me with, "Yeah, without wind even!"

The wind has been incredible all day so the lake is very choppy. I took the jet ski out and got some major air from the waves. I love the jet ski! We are a little sore today from all the water activities.

I wish I had more time.

Gator tail, frog legs, and catfish

Yes, I have been on vacation. The title should give you a hint... give up? The south! I spent a week and a half in Florida, North Carolina and Texas. I even made it into Mexico for a few hours. And yes, I actually ATE gator tail, frog legs, and catfish at a restaurant called Whitey's in Florida. Oh I love the south. It's warm, slower paced, and best of all conservative. I saw only one pro-Obama bumper sticker and that was in San Antonio Texas near the Alamo. Oh I love the south.

But you'll never hear my opinion. :)

In Florida, I visited with relatives I haven't seen in over a decade. We went to St. Augustine, Silver Springs, and an outlet mall. We then made the 7 hour journey to North Carolina to visit my sister and her family. We went to the Airborne Museum but mostly puttered around the house with the kids. I parted ways and flew to San Antonio, TX where I made a three hour drive to Del Rio. I was concerned at first about the drive but you'd be surprised at how entertaining the "middle of nowhere" Texas can be. My aunt and uncle took me to Mexico for lunch and shopping. My uncle took my on a real Air Force flight simulator-- so cool!

I got back around midnight Wednesday but immediate left Thursday for another long drive this time to Moses Lake for a little family gathering. I worked all week but am leaving in a few hours for Moses Lake again.I'm exhausted!

I desperately need some sleep so I'll have to post pictures and write more later.

I must be dreaming

Yesterday as I was walking through the Obama-obsessed streets of Seattle, I had a surreal sensation that I was dreaming. No joke. I had for sure thought that I had fallen into a coma and this was the dream world I must live in while waiting to come back to reality. I thought maybe everything I was seeing and hearing was actually from a dream and once awake, I need not worry about Obama destroying our country. Maybe if I work really hard to wake myself up...

Nobody could be so stupid as to want Obama for president.

But unfortunately, I came to the realization that this is not a dream. Apparently people are that stupid.

The words of my boss echo in my mind. "I'm an Obama supporter." Why? He's done nothing legislatively to earn your support. Because he "inspires" people? Because he'd be the first black president? Because he's young? That's why people are supporting him? The man is anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-capitalist, anti-white, and was a senator for all of 9 months before running for president. How arrogant. Forget the dream, this is a nightmare.

I must be dreaming. Only in Dreamland could this happen where a whole city, nay, a whole nation is brainwashed to want the under-qualified man to rule our country. People can't really be this stupid, can they?

Maybe the libs should take off their binoculars to get a broader view of the picture.

And I keep going back to the same question of "why?"
