WASHINGTON (AP) — Tens of thousands of protesters fed up with government spending marched to the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, showing their disdain for the president's health care plan with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick" and "I'm not your ATM."
The line of protesters clogged several blocks near the Capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. Demonstrators chanted "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Throngs of people waved U.S. flags and held signs reading "Go Green Recycle Congress" and "Obama Bin Lyin.'" Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of "judgment day" — Election Day 2010.
Other signs — reflecting the growing intensity of the health care debate — depicted President Barack Obama with the signature mustache of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. Many referred to Obama as a socialist or communist, and another imposed his face on that of the villainous Joker from "Batman."
Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Paw Paw, Mich. He said health care needs to be reformed — but not according to Obama's plan.
"My grandkids are going to be paying for this. It's going to cost too much money that we don't have," he said while marching, bracing himself with a wooden cane as he walked.
FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they billed as a "March on Washington."
Organizers say they built on momentum from the April "tea party" demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.
Armey and other speakers directed their ire at Pelosi — Armey took a photo, telling the crowd he wanted to be able to prove to her they were there.
"If it's necessary, we'll come back here next year," he said.
Many protesters said they paid their own way to the event — an ethic they believe should be applied to the government. They say unchecked spending on things like a government-run health insurance option could increase inflation and lead to economic ruin.
Terri Hall, 45, of Starke, Fla., said she felt compelled to become political for the first time this year because she was upset by government spending.
"Our government has lost sight of the powers they were granted," she said. She added that deficit spending is out of control, and said she thought it was putting the country at risk.
Race also became an issue when a black Republican leader denounced African-American politicians that she said had an "affinity" for socialism.
"I'm outraged prominent black politicians use the race card" to cover up their failed policies, said Deneen Borelli of New York.
One woman held a sign with images of Martin Luther King Jr. and Obama, with the words printed alongside: "He had a dream, we got a nightmare."
Lawmakers also supported the rally. Rep. Mike Pence, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said Americans want health care reform but they don't want a government takeover.
"Republicans, Democrats and independents are stepping up and demanding we put our fiscal house in order," Pence, of Indiana, told The Associated Press.
"I think the overriding message after years of borrowing, spending and bailouts is enough is enough," Pence said.
Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., and Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., also spoke at the rally.
Other sponsors of the event include the Heartland Institute, Americans for Tax Reform and the Ayn Rand Center for Individuals Rights.
Connie Castleton, 52, of Irving, Texas, said she drove 20 hours from her home to attend the rally. The nurse said she's motivated to try and get others involved in opposing Obama's health care plan.
"There's a lot more people mad about what's going on than I thought," she said.
Several protesters said they represented a "silent majority" or referred to themselves as "community organizers" — a phrase often associated with the president.
"This isn't some right-wing conservative agenda," said 30-year-old Adam Moore of Rochester, Mich. "This is a true grass-roots movement."
Erica Coyle, who's in her 50s and is from Louisville, Ky., said problems began before Obama took office, but she said the situation has worsened and people are "finally waking up."
"This is his Waterloo," Coyle said of Obama.

Obamacare: Let me get this straight
**I'm not clever enough to come up with something like this; this is a forwarded email
Let me get this straight.
Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose members will be exempt from it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is broke.
What could possibly go wrong?

Counter Protest
Jesus healed the sick without government force. He did charity on his own without expecting to be repaid and without stealing from the good people of the community.
Does anyone else feel like they need to apologize to God on McDermott's behalf? Is anyone else embarrassed but such statements? Forgive them, Lord, for they do not know any better.

Who is Bill Maher anyway?
MAHER: But yeah, I mean, they are talking about 60 votes. Forget this stuff, 60. We can't get Americans to agree on anything 60%. 60% of people don't believe in evolution in this country. He just needs to drag them to it. Like I just said, they're stupid. Just drag them to this. Get healthcare done.

Monkeys are racists
Race issues are a tired subject. Get over it already. This is just beyond silly and the black people are reaching. Waaaah. Such victims. It's people like this who whine about race issues that are making their own race look bad--they don't need any help from white folks!
Anyway, this article had me half laughing in disbelief because a toy company made dolls of three races (white, black, hispanic) to be cuddling with a stuffed animal. One theme was Panda and another was Monkey. Black people are outraged that a black doll is cuddling with a monkey.
Sometimes a monkey is just a monkey.
The dolls are like the ones below except holding a monkey. Video on the article.

"CATS HAVE TO BE OK WITH YOU IN ORDER FOR ME TO RENT FROM YOU!
IF you cant tolerate a cat, I dont want to stay in your house, thanks.
Hi,
My fiance and I are looking for a place, a place that we have our complete privacy. I dont want to rent from someone who is going to come up in our room when were away and use our computer or unplug all my stuff and then throw it on the floor! I am not very picky but the room has to be a decent size, not so small that it can barely fit a bed in it. (Bassically a closet is not going to work for us)
I don't really care how much rent is, but here is how I feel.
I will pay you what you NEED for rent. I am not going to pay you 1000 for rent when that will cover all of your bills. I understand it is your home, but I am not going to pay ALL of your bills, aint happening.
If I wanted to pay that I would get my own place.
Don't ask me to pay 500 a month if I wont have my own bathroom, aint happening.
Don't ask me to pay 500 a month if you dont have cable and internet, aint happening.
I am not trying to sound bitchy but you would be amazed at the crap people on here expect.
If we do rent from you, we will NOT tolerarate anyone stepping foot into our room, because we are paying for it and we enjoy our privacy, if that ever gets broken will we know trust me and we will move out most likely to same day.
I am not desperate, I have money and a place to stay right now I am just kinda looking for something that has some privacy.
My BIG things are
DONT treat us like children or grandchildren for that matter
DONT go through our stuff
DONT ask to use my computer because the anserw will be no until I know you better
DONT ask me where I am going when I walk out the door
DONT get into any of my buisness ever!
Those things will end up in us moving out immediatly
Trust me I have been playing this game and I am not the one to play it with! I work too damn hard for the money I make and I am a grown ass women and will not be talked to or treated like a child or shit.
Anyone who has been a roomate probally knows what i am talking about.

I guess you really should FEAR some DENTISTS!
Of course, not MY DENTIST (Dr. Jim Coleman), but the coalition of dentists that just sent out the flyer below touting that their staff are members of the United Food and Commercial Workers union. Gee--I WONDER who they're supporting...
Just in case you can't see who they're advertising for, I offer the following Obama Logo reminder:
Apparently the union difference offered here is an incomplete, single-colored, haphazard rainbow/sunbeam.

Obama says...something....about something... I think...
And another thing...
The libs are so self-righteous with their organic and so-called locally grown food but chew on this: if Obama taxes the crap out of businesses and restrict what you can grown in Seattle (true story) then how can people grow and sell local food? So locally grown food will be hard to grow and since we will be taxed about 60 percent to pay for "free" socialized healthcare then actually selling the local food will be hard too since no one will have the money. Plus think of all the greenhouse gases veggie growers are putting into the environment when they can't sell their veggies and they rot. (hand to my forehead: woe is me, not the greenhouse gases! Think of the
War on drugs. War on gangs. War on terror. Can we declare a war on liberals??

Liberal domain
I'm sick of this area and often for fun will read about other cities that's be fun to live in or near. a trend I see is that all cities that have a booming industry and beautiful geography have been overtaken by the libtards. Which leads me to believe that liberals are selfish. They want to live in beautiful mountains (Colorado, Seattle, California, Oregon) and beaches (the left and right coasts). Notice how they grab up all the jobs in said cities but piss and moan that there is too much commercialization, too much money juxtaposed with too many homeless people. They have an abundant amount of food but complain about cow farts and sheep burps harming the environment.
They are out of touch.
This group takes all the high paying jobs because they are more willing to slit throats to get to the top. When you have a city of money then of course lazy and homeless people are going to come around and beg-- free money! And when you take your steak for granted, you don't think of the farmers who are doing back-breaking work in a countryside (that no liberal will set foot on) so they can make a living to feed their families. If you care so much about cow farts hurting than the environment then you hav your values mixed up. Cap and T(raid) will hurt the farmers and then you'll have even more homeless people.
Liberals live the good life with green trees, mountains and lakes. They take cushy office jobs during the day and take their bikes out for a ride after work. They eat food without any regard as to how it came to them. They get fancy healthcare through their work and feel guilty about it so they demand that everyone should get "free" healthcare. (anything free from the gov't is never free) They think they represent the country. They couldn't be more wrong.
On a healthcare side-note, the liberals are saying that queer marriage and socialized healthcare are "basic human rights." Let me tell you a little something about human rights. Human rights are endowed by our creator whether you are normal and believe that God is our creator, or if you are a nut-job who thinks the universe farted and created earth which then created humans out of nowhere. Either way, you were created. Basic human rights are necessities like food, water, shelter and clothing. We are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Don't let anyone tell you that government gave you those rights-- God (or your creator of choice) gave you those rights. Government does not grant rights.
Government does not grant rights.
One more time. Government does not grant rights.
God granted people life, liberty and pursuit of happiness and the constitution does not that government is allowing that but stating that those things are our rights and the government may never take them away. Ever.
Healthcare and queer marriage are not rights. If you really want to do something about them then take a vote but don't you dare say that the services of another human being (healthcare) or immoral acts of human beings (queers) are rights. They aren't
That's my ramble.

Spin Sisters
Amazing book. Totally "made me think" and reassess my prespective on life. The book tells how the women's magazines from Family Circle to O to Harper's Bazaar sell unhappiness, stress, and victim mentality to women. She often talks about and quotes the Spin Sisters known as Katie Couric, Oprah, Diane Sawyer, Barbara Walters and Rosie O'Donnell. I was floored when reading this especially near the end about the politics of these wretched women. The honestly think that they are the mainstream woman; just your average soccer mom who knows the everyday struggles of being a wife/mother/woman. Well Katie, you make 16 million dollars a year and I make 16 dollars an hour...you have no clue what it's like to be "average."
One analogy is when the author, Myrna Blyth, was sharing a cab with a couple of these gals. They were talking about prayer in school and the Spin Sisters were all up in arms about the cruelty to condone such a thing, don't these politicians know what separation of church and state means?? The cab driver, an African-American man, speaks up and says that prayer isn't so bad, he wouldn't mind if his kids prayed in school and Lord knows kids these days need it. The women went silent for the rest of the ride. Once out of the cab, they started squawking about how this man doesn't know what he's talking about, he didn't mean that, etc. These elitist liberal media mushheads don't understand that there is a huge difference between their mindset and the general publics. They see themselves and in the middle, mainstream, normal. Anyone who disagrees must be crazy and ultimately destroyed. (remember Joe The Plumber?) They have are so incestuously involved with such a hard-core leftist point of view that they honestly don't think others exist.
The biggest things that opened my eyes is the way they sell garbage to people. She did a three year study of 5 major magazines (don't have the book with me at the moment so I can't tell you which ones right now) to prove her point. Not only were there hundreds of examples of stories that tell women that they are stressed, but there were also hundreds of stories about weight loss (the "quick fixes" that never work) and not one average looking woman on the cover-- only skeletons and massively touched up pictures of celebrities. The stories about stress implanted the idea that you are at a disadvantage anyway by just being a woman. The add the career, husband, kids, house, car, friends and pets and you are a total disaster! And almost every time the magazine suggests taking a warm bath and lighting some candles and aromatherapy. Yeah... that'll do the trick... She also quotes a study that shows that because of modern conveniences, people have gained about 5 hours of time in the day but still feel they need more time. What are we doing with our extra time? Pissing it away on TV. The day goes by very quickly when you watch too much TV. I would know.
The selling of unhappiness struck a chord with me. I'm a natural complainer, glass if half empty kind of gal but this book showed me how wonderful we truly have it! When asked what a woman would do with free time, they were dumbfounded. What would we do? Probably watch TV. Most woman say they rather be busy and "stressed" than bored. So why are we complaining when we have a full day?? Blyth also talks about how stress was a term added as an adjective of daily life in the 50s. Advertisers use that as a selling point. "You are stressed and need to relax. Buy my product! It's the only way to be free!" If that were true then there wouldn't be a new product or idea every month for every magazine. We'd have one cure and be done.
Although this book is about the media selling unhappiness and liberalism to women, I would strongly encourage men to read it too, especially if you have a wife or daughter. They may not know that they are a media pawn.

Now a VAT?
With budget deficits soaring and President Obama pushing a trillion-dollar-plus expansion of health coverage, some Washington policymakers are taking a fresh look at a money-making idea long considered politically taboo: a national sales tax.
A White House official said a VAT is "unlikely to be in the mix" as a means to pay for health-care reform. "While we do not want to rule any credible idea in or out as we discuss the way forward with Congress, the VAT tax, in particular, is popular with academics but highly controversial with policymakers," said Kenneth Baer, a spokesman for White House Budget Director Peter Orszag.
Which means they aren't saying no.
The federal budget deficit is projected to approach $1.3 trillion next year, the highest ever except for this year, when the deficit is forecast to exceed $1.8 trillion. The Treasury is borrowing 46 cents of every dollar it spends, largely from China and other foreign creditors, who are growing increasingly uneasy about the security of their investments. Unless Congress comes up with some serious cash, expanding the nation's health-care system will only add to the problem.
Key lawmakers are considering other ways to pay for health reform, including new taxes on sugary soda, alcohol and employer-provided health insurance. The last proposal could raise a lot of money -- nearly $1 trillion over the next five years, according to White House budget documents. But options on the table would raise a fraction of that sum. And while it might pay for health care, it would barely dent deficits projected to total nearly $4 trillion over the next five years and to grow rapidly in the future, as baby boomers draw on Social Security and Medicare.
Did you catch that? The VAT will bring in nearly $1 trillion dollars BUT we are expecting a $4 trillion dollar deficit. So it wont even help!!!
The VAT has advantages: Because producers, wholesalers and retailers are each required to record their transactions and pay a portion of the VAT, the tax is hard to dodge. It punishes spending rather than savings, which the administration hopes to encourage. And the threat of a VAT could pull the country out of recession, some economists argue, by hurrying consumers to the mall before the tax hits.
Why do they want to punish spenders?? Why, Why, Why?? Aren't spenders the ones who, oh I don't know, move the economy?? What are they thinking? Are they so disconnected from "flyover country" and think that the only people who buy things are rich people? Don't they know how hard it is for impoverish people right here in the Seattle area to buy food? Over-taxation will ultimately hurt the poor, no matter the intention. If the gov't gets rid of ALL other taxes then I might be open for a VAT that does not include food.
In my oh-so humble opinion, taxing food is wrong. It makes me think of the third world countries like Africa who have war-lords that use food as a way to control people.
