And the winner is...

Sarah Palin!

I'm so stoked!

Dems are already trying to trash her. My liberal boss said today, it's a bad idea. When I asked why, he responded saying that nobody knows who she is, he's never heard of her until today. I mean, the Governor of Alaska? Bad idea.

Ok but nobody knew who Obama was until he marched out Marxistly (is that a word?) from the senate, making himself into a celebrity. Libs are so obsessed with image, fame, and feelings. The truth is, Palin has more executive experience than Obama, Biden, and McCain. They've been in the senate but never actually managed anything. Obama's been in the senate for, what, a few months now? Biden claims to be a regular blue collar guy like you but he's been in the senate for about 600 years but has never actually lead anybody. McCain's story is the same as Biden. Palin started out on the PTA, was voted into City Counsel, then Mayor and finally Governor.

And she is a lifetime member of the NRA.

A rather good idea, Tom.

A Little Babcock History

Thank you Joan and Whitey Lange for researching this!

Babcock Surname Origin:

English: Little Bab, or Bartholomew; from Bab, a nickname for Bartholomew, and cock, small, little, a son; cic, cock, el, and et are diminutives, and include the ideas of kindness and tenderness, associated with smallness of size. How cool is that??

According to information passed along to Uncle Dan, the Babcock's started with five brothers that immigrated here from England. Two of the five stayed on the East coast (presumably Virginia) and then the other three went to Michigan where they had a prosperous Babcock farm. Unfortunately the farm also came with a lot of drama I guess because one of them left to travel farther westwards to Washington.

According to the census from the Lange's research , Ethan and Benjamin Jr. were born in New York but moved to Van Buren County, Michigan to farm. Charles Henry Babcock, son of Benjamin Babcock Jr., was born in Michigan, as were his children. Leon Amos Babcock (of Charles Babcock, of Benjamin Jr, of Benjamin Sr.) moved to Bellevue, WA where his kids were born.

A Little Gun History

A little gun history... (I got this from Arley's myspace)

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control..
From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

------------------------------

In 1911, Turkey established gun control..
From 1915 to 1917, 1..5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

------------------------------

Germany established gun control in 1938
From 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated..

China established gun control in 1935..
From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

------------------------------

Guatemala established gun control in 1964..
From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

------------------------------

Uganda established gun control in 1970..
From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

------------------------------

Cambodia established gun control in 1956..
From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

------------------------------

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced, by new law, to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars..

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3..2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8..6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and now only the criminals still have their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed..

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins, home invasion robberies (with the people still at home) and assaults of the ELDERLY..

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has so drastically decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns..

The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it..

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens..

Take note my fellow brethren, before it is too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson..

With guns, people are 'citizens'..
Without them, they are 'subjects'..

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

I WILL BECOME AN OUTLAW
BEFORE I GIVE UP MY GUN!

Long but still worth it

I remember in 8th grade I had this Humanities class that I loved. A mixture of American history, creative writing, and an amazing teacher, it was my favorite class. At one point in the writing part of this class we had to write an advertisement for an item. I chose to write about a superior jacket that was perfect for sports. I used a variety of adjectives to create a deep feeling about said jacket, making the ad come alive. But in the end, it was still a jacket.

This next story I will tell you about reminds me of my article because the description of such a silly thing is far too elaborate for the subject. From The Seattle Times, Leonard Pitts, Jr. wrote about the mini-movie Katrina’s Children which is a movie that will never make it to the big screens but apparently it is online. The description of the movie, particularly about the little girl, had me laughing very hard.

“There are many wrenching scenes in Katrina’s Children but arguably the most wrenching is not the girl crying because the hurricane left her so fearful of water she can no longer swim, or the boys touring the wreckage that was once home, or the children recalling how corpses floated by, writhing with maggots. No, the most wrenching scene comes when Tyronieshia tries to read”

Are you laughing yet or is it just me being insensitive? Here is one of the most deadly, damaging hurricanes to hit the USA and the author is depressed over a kid who can’t read—and blames it on society. Read on.

“Ten years old and she was already on the way to illiteracy and the life of don’t-have and can’t-get that usually comes with it. You realize, here is a child who was failed by her school, failed by her community, failed by her family. Then three years ago this week, the storm came and she was failed by everything else.”

Are you kidding me? What have I always stressed about in these blogs? Accountability. Plain and simple. This is the dangerous victim-mentality our society has come to which feeds on entitlement-mindset. Illiteracy is not society’s fault, but the families fault alone. Parents need to follow up on education.

The author continues on about how children silence their fears but we can hear them if we just take the time to listen. And perhaps the funniest part of the article is next.

“We cry out as the famous-for-nothing live their train-wreck lives or the ballplayer runs for daylight or the TV news tells us about this week’s missing coed, but we fail to hear the quiet, painful sound of Tyronieshia trying to read.”

Then the author speaks of little ten year old Erica who tells her story about how she watched babies die in the convention center’s heat and stench. But not without first blaming the right-wing politics. Reading on, he makes a particular blasphemous statement about little Erica.

“Maybe you take that as a cue to circle your wagons of race or politics. Well, Erica, who saw babies die, sees an imperative beyond that. She drew a picture, a mosaic of faces in rainbow colors, combining into a single image. A single destiny. With a little one’s gift for clarifying and purifying that which stymies and stupefies adults, she calls her drawing All In One.

And the prophet was right. A little child shall lead them.”

The first part of the article I found amusing but this part was disturbing. The libs are obsessed with finding messianic qualities in regular people. First they described Al Gore as a prophet with his Global Warming hype, then Obama is their Messiah with his Hope and Change, now this child is possessing Jesus-like qualities for clarity and purity? The bible does say a child shall lead them but that verse was meant for Jesus. (I’ll have to get back to you with the exact verse.) Jesus Christ is the only clear and pure being, not the child who can make a pretty picture.

Truly Frightening

This just goes to show how insane the Obama Cult, the Obamunists, the Obamrads, will go to show their worship of their messiah. I couldn't even finish the whole video because after four minutes I couldn't take it anymore. "This is our American Prayer" is the name of it, I believe, and notice how the celebrities singing in this video are those who have probably never prayed, went to church, or even believe in God. Notice how Forrest Whitaker looks as though he is praying to Obama. He's just a person, what's the hype? Oh right, he's their messiah. How arrogant to say it's America's Prayer-- do they speak for all of America now?

The celebrities want Obama to save the homeless and poor by using my meager 30k a year but never do they volunteer much of their 20 million a year. People are so disillusioned by thinking that a president has that much power to control our bedrooms and our lives. Government has been trying to rid of homelessness and poverty for decades but it still thrives. And just over the past few days I've been hearing about how McCain will "steal our reproductive rights" which is entirely untrue. Bush has been president for 8 years without "stealing" the "right" to abort unborn children. Government is here to protect the country from greedy, dangerous foreign nations who hate us and want to take us over and regulate trade between states; not get into the nitty-gritty details of bedroom, reproduction, career, salary and how many homes you own. (Obama hating that McCain owns investment houses is mightily Marxist)

When will it ever end? Will it ever end? I have a feeling that if McCain is president, the celebs will never shut up. However, if Obama is the next president he will, as Jon Voight said, fall short is every way. One can only hope.

A simple game of Catch Phrase

The game Catch Phrase is exactly like the game Taboo where you have a word in front of you that you can't say but you must give clues so people can guess the word. In Taboo, you have a list of five word clues you may not say. In Catch Phrase, anything goes except rhyming.

So tonight I was playing with Douglas and my parents and Douglas's clue goes as follows:

"A treasonous movie made by a fat retard"

Easy answer: Fahrenheit 9-11

I win.

Celebrities are not politicians

A celebrity is an uneducated, idiotic tool who makes a living pretending to be someone else because they have no personality of their own. How many of them have a degree in something other than art and music? But somehow they are magically empowered and enlightened with a keen understanding of the economics of our country.

Jon Voight wrote an incredibly articulate article about the pains we will suffer, and suffer currently, because of the Obamunist campaign. Unfortunately Mr. Voight is a typical actor who did go to college, the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, in 1960, only to change his major after his Freshman year from Speech and Drama to Art. But he was a swinging sixties, bleeding heart liberal who realized how much damage that does to a nation. So he switched sides.

Anyway, Mr. Voight's article is low-key but firm as he wants to get his point across from the Conservative viewpoint-- something Hollywood and the media refuse to acknowledge-- but he is generally polite.

"The Democratic Party, in its quest for power, has managed a propaganda campaign with subliminal messages, creating a God-like figure in a man who falls short in every way. It seems to me that if Mr. Obama wins the presidential election, then Messrs. Farrakhan, Wright, Ayers and Pfleger will gain power for their need to demoralize this country and help create a socialist America.

If Mr. Obama had his way, he would have pulled our troops from Iraq years ago and initiated an unprecedented bloodbath, turning over that country to the barbarianism of our enemies. With what he has openly stated about his plans for our military, and his lack of understanding about the true nature of our enemies, there's not a cell in my body that can accept the idea that Mr. Obama can keep us safe from the terrorists around the world, and from Iran, which is making great strides toward getting the atomic bomb. And while a misleading portrait of Mr. Obama is being perpetrated by a media controlled by the Democrats, the Obama camp has sent out people to attack the greatness of Sen. John McCain, whose suffering and courage in a Hanoi prison camp is an American legend.

This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way."

That is just some of the article. The article in it's entirety is humble yet melancholy, intense and perhaps a little exaggerated but at the same time very much correct and right on the truth.

Roseanne Barr on the other hand is a disgusting, malicious pig. She suddenly has the knowledge of a senator about foreign relations, economics, and war. But Roseanne dropped out of school when she was 17 years old. She married three times, has five kids with three different fathers, and worked as a dishwasher before getting a career acting and stand up comedy. Her retaliation blog opposing Jon Voight's article is written, as is most of her blog, as that of a junior high school student. The only adult word she used was "vacuous" which seemed wildly out of place compared to the seventh-grade script. Check out her immediate and continuous use of childlike insults with NO facts to back up anything she is saying.

"Jon Voight is a frightened little girl in a pink ballet tutu, who acts like Obama just wandered in from the rain forest with a bone thru his nose and a communist pamphlet in his loincloth. The neocons who own jon voight and make him dance on the chabad telethons are the worst most elitist people on earth. glen beck and jon voight are their bitches... both of them are used tampons who must be flushed down the toilet immediately! jon voight your evil spawn angelina jolie and her vacuous hubby brad pitt make about forty million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more. (just sayin')."

She goes on about the Right-Wing assault on Africa and how Angelina Jolie should be ashamed of herself for having such a father. Did Roseanne forget that it is not our fault that Africa cannot feed it's own people? Is it our fault that they choose not to be capitalist and successful and thrive? Why do we need to save the world? We can't save ourselves and the world; pick one. I choose us, let the private charities and missionaries help the world. And she clearly opposed to war stating, "Mccain wants to continue with the idea of war for profit" The only "profit" we get from war is freedom. She hates war so much but we'd be slave-owning Brits if America always opposed war. Did she forget that?

How much else have we chosen to forget to make room for our feel good notions?

Hope Dogs and Changeburgers

Douglas, Christina and I went to the Island County Fair yesterday and it was an interesting experience. This may not be a new thing but I noticed for the first time Republican and Democrat food stands. I do remember the actual booths of such at the Puyallup Fair but never saw food stands taking sides. So of course we stopped at the Republican booth but not without me first walking by the Democrat booth saying a little loudly, "Oh there's the Democrat booth. Lets talk about how we like McCain and Rossi as we walk by on our way to the Republican booth. There's some real men." Ha, I crack me up. We did spend quite a bit of time at the booth, thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Douglas had made a sarcastic comment earlier that was incredibly funny to me, "So what do the Democrat stands sell, Hope Dogs and Changeburgers?" No sooner after he said did he notice how much it worked. So the workers of the booth got a good laugh.

After petting all the animals (including the ones we weren't supposed to pet, hehe) we decided to get some food. We got our food only to sit at a table facing the Democrat food stand. Of course that just aggravated me. I don't care much for ice cream most of the time but since thats the only thing the Republican stand was selling, I felt it was my duty to buy one. Of course after I pay for it do I casually say, "So I'm thinking of going to the Democrat stand and saying, 'If I can't pay with change can i pay with hope?'" They hesitated a moment and then busted up laughing. At least they thought I was funny.

And to answer your question, I DID go to the Democrat stand and asked them that. They didn't think I was very funny. Truth hurts.

Hope doesn't pay the bills, does it?

Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to go cling to my guns.

Disturbing

Ah, the tolerant left. The "progressives", the Enlightened, the cult of love is showing yet again how much they love all walks of life. Skin color, gender, sexuality, economic status, religion-- they are all tolerated by the left.

Except if you are a white, straight, upper-middle class, Christian male. Like Bill O'Reilly for example.

Have you heard of the new song from East Coast Avengers? It is, no joke, titled "Kill Bill O'Reilly" and I am disgusted, disturbed, and appalled by the lack of media coverage. This is an incredibly violent song calling for the demise of not only Bill O'Reilly but Michelle Malkin as well. I am not going to post the lyrics because they are so disgusting but you can find the article and lyrics here.

I don't understand why liberals are claiming to be so tolerant but hate conservatives. It's not even a competitive dislike; it's just downright blood-boiling, red-eyed, nostrils flaring, hot coal, blinding hatred that they feel for conservatives. They are basically saying "believe what I believe or die." If a conservative band ever wrote such lyrics they'd be put in jail. This goes back to the Fairness Doctrine-- is the media really too right for them? Seems a bit too left to me.

"Believe what I say or die" sounds an awful lot like Nazi talk to me. Once again, are we heading into Civil War II?

Thursday, August 14, 2008

Did I hear this correctly?

David Boze mentioned today about the FCC trying to pass yet again the Fairness Doctrine.

The Fairness Doctrine had two basic elements: It required broadcasters to devote some of their airtime to discussing controversial matters of public interest, and to air contrasting views regarding those matters. Stations were given wide latitude as to how to provide contrasting views: It could be done through news segments, public affairs shows or editorials. (wikipedia)

So we are back with the whole issue of "fairness." I am so sick and tired of the government thinking that they know what is best for me. I think I know what is best for me, thank you. it's the libs who are crying how unbalanced media is. I'd say that sitcoms, news, and public affairs commentators lean incredibly to the left. A safe bet is way over half is dedicated to liberal blather. Even my beloved Family Guy preaches leftism. Conservatives are clearly outnumbered and they aren't crying out for fairness.

I thought libs love the first Amendment. They piss in a jar, put a cross in it and call it "art." They screamed loud when Conservatives tried to censor that. Do they find Conservatives more offensive than that?

Could this lead to Civil War II?

Who loves Obama more than Obama?

The answer to the headline is... No one. People cry out his name, bow to his shrine in their closets, faint when seeing him, and become his disciples. But he clearly loves himself more than the public does.

I am reminded of the clip from Family Guy where Peter says, "Wow, he loves her more than Julia Roberts loves herself." Cut to Julia Roberts saying, "Hi, I'm Julia Roberts. As you may have heard, many people have died due to the tsunami. But don't worry; I didn't. And I'll be here to entertain you for years to come. Me! ME! MEEE!!!" end with maniacal laughter.

The reason I started this attack on Barry Hussein is because he just keeps getting more and more creepy. First he comes out with his undefined "change" on a logo.

About that same time he comes out with his "O" logo.

It gets really creepy when he came out with his own presidential seal. Who does he think he is?

He then decided it would be a great idea to "change" his jet. His idea of "change"? To delete the American flag and replace it with his own foolish "O" symbol. To simply not add a flag is okay but to remove it is downright disrespectful.

But those are just kid games compared to this next and newest one. hillaryorbust.com is proving to be one of McCain's better allies. They did a blog on this next Hitlarian logo.

Why are people voting for him?? As Dave says, "Hope" is not a plan, "Change" is not an outcome.

Operation Button Bomb

Mr. Boze, you've done it again! It was through The David Boze Show on AM770 where the term Obamunism was coined and now he's created Operation Button Bomb.

MoveOn.org has taken a vacation from protesting wars now that the Russians are aggressively carving up a fledgling democracy. Now MoveOn is focused on helping Barak Obama win the presidency, by sending out free campaign buttons and trying to expand their mailing list.

This gave me the idea of taking them up on the offer and having them spend the money on postage to give me my "free" button. True, they will add me to their junk mail and spam list, but I will simply ID them as "trash" for my email filter, and I will punish the environment with their wasteful mailings. I am just pleased I can urge you to join me in this subversive effort without breaking my principles (no government mandates involved--they're the ones offering the free buttons, so I am taking advantage of the offer.).

I guess since Rush Limbaugh had Operation Chaos, we should call this Operation Button Bomb. It will be the best use of MoveOn.org's money yet (unless they've burned some in their parking lot to protest the dead white guys pictured on the front).

Spend their money and get your Obama button here.

MoveOn.org is giving out free buttons and Mr. Boze had the great idea of wasting their money for not only the button but the cost of shipping to have it sent to your house. People commented on his blog saying that we can hand out the buttons to the homeless when they ask for spare "change."

Sidenote: only about 25% of panhandlers are legitimately in need. So stop handing out money on the street! Instead, give items and gift cards to a local food or clothing bank. Or give out your new "change" buttons.

I've already got a couple of buttons on the way :)

A little decency left

Jamie met up with me today in Bellevue after work for a little trip to Wade's Guns. He's working Army this month and was still in uniform. In Wade's, I noticed everyone was very respectful to this smart-ass 25 year old friend of mine. One fella started talking with him about the military right away. The thing that touched me the most was a woman in there. While moving down the glass counter the woman was in Jamie's view so he politely said "excuse me" while looking into the case. The woman stepped aside, looking at Jamie, and said just as politely, "Oh absolutely, go right ahead. For all you do for our country, thank you. Thank you for your service." She said a few more nice things but I have forgotten them unfortunately.

The point is that there is at least one sincere, decent person left with manners and respect for our military. This is the major difference between Seattle and the Eastside. A mere body of water separates two entirely different world.

Attention Everyone

I just wanted to rub it in the Liberals faces that I bought yet another gun. HA HA!!

Yes, I bought myself a Kimber Ultra-Carry II with night sights. Right after I bought it I took it to the indoor range and shot it. That is the sweetest gun ever. And this afternoon, I went and shot my AR. Another sweet gun. I must say, I am getting better at shooting although I managed to shoot the man-silhouette target in the fellas...twice.

I have a little rail on my XD so I think I'll attach a little flashlight on the end and maybe a red dot laser if I feel the need. I saw some light/laser combo attachments at the gun show and thought it would be great especially on the gun I keep on my night stand. Then I'm thinking I'll build a tricked out AR a little at a time. Or perhaps get an AK? So many things to choose from.

Now all I need to do is figure out the best way to carry my Kimber.

I laugh everytime I see it

I read about how google "accidentally" deleted anti-Obama blogs and through reading the blogs (which are now back up and running) I came across the site hillaryorbust.com So I checked it out and found an Obama video that is mock-worthy. The video is originally from moveon.org.

Is this for real? It's like a valtrex commercial. But I think it's a sound analogy: Obama's hope is like herpes.

Sissified Nation

This one says it all.

911 Systems choking on non-emergency calls

Which of these is an emergency?
  • A Subway sandwich shop in Florida leaves the mayo and mustard off a customer’s order.
  • A Texas man can’t get a cab.
  • A Tennessee man’s stepfather keeps nagging him to do the laundry.

Sissy people are relying on government and others to be parents. Not only do people file frivolous lawsuits and seek new laws every time one little thing goes wrong, but now people are "telling on" each other to 911 dispatchers.

Grow up.

Bittersweet

It is finally summer in Seattle. This week is supposed to be upper 70s to mid 80s and sunny. We even have a smog alert for tomorrow. I love walking the streets of North Seattle, smelling the flowers and breathing in the fresh air-- well when there isn't a smog alert anyway. What are those purple flowers called? Lilacs? I love those! There aren't many daffodils left but it's ok, they worked all spring to help chase away the gloom. I love the sun and warm and it's such a nice change after being overwhelmed with cold and rain ALL YEAR LONG.

But I still can't stand Seattle. You can't polish a turd.

An entire generation is at stake

The brainwashing starts at a young age. Some of us must have an internal antidote; for others, we must find the cure.

My lovely cousin Christina has a brain and knows how to use it-- Yes she is an 18 year old conservative. Her friends, however, seem to be extremely liberal. It frustrates me how the liberal "progressive" cult claims to be tolerant and full of love but their actions say otherwise. Yes, they are extremely tolerant of alternative lifestyles-- which is great, we should be-- but they shun and hate traditional lifestyles, values, and beliefs. Why can't we have both?

Worst of all, they hate conservatives and their views and opinions. Doesn't seem very progressive to me.

On my cousins facebook.com account, she had a picture of herself, my brother and me sporting McCain stickers. Here is how the dialogue plays out on the comments board:

Kangda: YOU WOULD

Megan: OH GOD! NOOOOOO

Tara: What "tolerant" comments...

Christina: oh liberals are always so accepting of others' beliefs :)

Megan: Silly liberals.

Kangda: "if obama wins, i'm going to revoke my citizenship and move to canada. i'm not even kidding" - christina babcock, a conservative.

Megan: Funny, I said the same thing about McCain.

Christina: no, I wouldn't leave America no matter how much the liberals talk about how bad the economy is, how bad war is, how bad global warming is, and how communism wold solve all these things

Tara: wow, sparky.... once again, so many "tolerant" liberals. Besides, you are better off cashing in an moving to the Bahamas or Costa Rica-- Canada is full of Socialist/Communist Obama lovers too. Wait, your friends SHOULD move there and get the hell out of this God loving, Gun toting, wonderful Capitalist country!

I'll let you know how it progresses from there... in the mean time:

Simple Game of Taboo

Taboo is a game where the card reader has a word must give hints to the players who are guessing the word. But the card reader may not say the word or a list of 5 words on the card that would easily give it away.

Here is how the Babcock's play the word-guessing game, Taboo:

(it's Christina's turn)

Christina: Ok I got it. Liberals have no...

Douglas: Balls!

Tara: Nuts! Brains! Tolerance!

Rush and the President

Today is Rush Limbaugh's 20th anniversary for his radio show and what a show! I wasn't able to listen to too much of it due to work but I was incredibly surprised and pleased to be listening when former and current presidents Bush along with Jeb Bush called to tell him congratulations. Wow! I have respect for them for doing that. What an honor to speak to them! They were having a little family get-together and called Mr. Limbaugh and had such good things to say.

Congrats on 20 years, Rush.
