World War Z

If you have never read World War Z by Max Brooks, I recommend it. It is an oral history of the Zombie war with an underlying political tone. There were two passages in the book that struck close to all the political blather of the two presidential candidates I dislike.

The first passage is on page 113 when Max Brooks interviews a man from Texas who is the former white House chief of staff. The man responds to a question like so:

"Can you ever 'solve' poverty? Can you ever 'solve' crime? Can you ever 'solve' disease, unemployment, war, or any other type of societal herpes? Hell no. All you can hope for is to make them manageable enough to allow people to get on with their lives. That's not cynicism, that's maturity. You can't stop the rain. All you can do is just build a roof that you hope wont leak."

In a recent interview with Bill Moyers, Obama said that people "want a president that can solve their problems." Gag me. You can keep throwing money at people but as the old saying goes, "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" so money is good but that doesn't mean they'll invest it in their education or lives. They might just go buy a new TV to replace their "old" TV of two years.

On page 300, Max interviews a somewhat famous man in California who says this:

"...scratch and scrape and fight for their lives because someone is telling them that they're going to be okay. There's a word for that kind of lie. Hope."

Hmm, I believe that is Barry Hussein's selling word. Hope. Try a new word, Hussein. Try accountability.

Sick of the race card, try accountability

I am so tired of Jeremiah Wright and Barack Hussein still trying to make white people feel guilty of the slavery and discrimination that happened 200 years ago. I recognize that there was a lot of race discrimination for the next 100 years after the slaves were freed in roughly 1860 after the civil war until Dr. King spoke out in 1960. But why should *I* be treated as a racial criminal when I have never owned a slave nor discriminated against a black American (or any other race for that matter) and I was born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s when we didn't have Jim Crow laws and weren't taught to hate other races.

According to www.blackpast.org in 1860 the U.S. population was 31,443,321 (27 million white) with a black population of 4,441,830 which is 14%. According to the 2000 census the US population281,421,906 (white American population was roughly 200 million) with the black American population at 34,658,190 which is about 12%. In 1860 there was 13% of todays white population. 27 million white Americans committed a sinful, immoral act in the 1860s but 150 years later 200 million people are being punished...still.

Jeremiah Wright made a statement saying that his many speeches, which has since been made into many sound bites and played everywhere, were supposed to tell the story of white discrimination against blacks. He wants to end discrimination and segregation. But then he says, "God doesn't bless America, God damns America!" "The United States of KKK" "The white Romans killed Jesus because he was black!" well that sounds more like whitey hating...in church! My Aunt Pat, the most devout Christian I know, would NEVER stay in such a church.

ANYway, in a recent speech at the NAACP he speaks of how black church is different. That's what they do, how they are. Wait a minute-- don't you want to be some magical melting pot? Or seperate black culture? Stop with the flip-flopping! And then Barry Hussein says that he didn't hear all the sermons of Jeremiah [Spite]-- does that mean he isn't the regular church goer he claims to be? Wright says in a later interview (talking about Obama's response to Wrights sermons) that Obama is doing what politicians do while he does what preachers do. Does that mean that Obama is not being truthful because, as a politician trying to save his ass, he needs to say what the public wants to hear?

While listening to the Michael Savage show on AM 770 at 6pm (check him out!) a black man from San Fransisco called in basically saying that Obama can do no wrong. (ok, I exaggerate a little but that is the gist as I need to wrap this up) Then he proceeds to rant about how he hate how white people refer to him as a black first and American second. AAGH!! Stop with the incessant flip-flopping! He just referred to us "whites" implying that we are white first and American second-- practice what you preach.

It is beyond my comprehension that even though Barry Hussein has relationships with terrible people, the general American population has the biggest halo-effect I have ever seen for the guy. If McCain had a black-hating preacher, he'd have been long gone.

I wish people in general would stop blaming problems on their ancestors and take accountability for themselves. My female ancestors were oppressed (black men could vote AND own land before women could) but that doesn't make me bitter today.

I choose not to be a victim.

It's not a man made problem

It's the end of April and this is THE 2nd or 3rd nice day we've had in the Seattle area this year. It got to about 70 degrees but it seems to be getting a little cloudy this evening. Still, it was a splendid day. I am also happy to report that not everyone on the Eastside has succumbed to the poisonous hype know as (in creepy voice) *Global Warming* as there were many people taking their boats out today which were towed by gas guzzling, polluting trucks and SUVs. Good for you. It's probably been a rough day of boating, drinking beer, and barbecuing, so be sure to end your day with a relaxing movie. Here's one you can cuddle up to: The Great Global Warming Swindle. I will be watching that movie tonight or tomorrow night so I'll be sure to tell you how it is. If you down have a TV, curl up to a good book like Climate Confusion: How Global Warming Hysteria Leads to Bad Science, Pandering Politicians and Misguided Policies that Hurt the Poor.

Don't get me wrong-- we should absolutely take care of our earth. I am all for the mantra "reduce, reuse, recycle." But why should we feel guilty about a naturally occurring weather change that we can't control? We are in a warming cycle (cycle being the key word) but it is not man made.The dinosaurs lived in a period of global warming--did they drive cars and boats? Were they the cause? No. So in the words of my brother-in-law, "go thee forth" and boat!

Feel Good Nation

I've discovered AM radio. I have never listened to talk radio but my parents mentioned it a few times over the past few weeks so when my ipod ran out of batteries, I tuned into 770, 710, and 1090. The three digit channels are mostly right-wing talk. 1090 is "progressive" talk. (lefty) I do have a point so bear with me. Both sides have professed hate to each other, to our presidential candidates, the president, etc. But Michael Savage made a very good point the other day: we have this mentality of "My party is better than yours" and that is very self destructive. I, too, have succumbed to "Republicans good, Liberals bad" mentality but if you think about it, it sounds like the makings of some kind of civil war. We have lost the original intention of the president which is providing defense for our country and being the guy who has the peoples interest in mind when making decisions both in and out of the country. But lately it's some kind of smear fest-- who has the better Bush joke, who can out speak whom in the democratic debate. Yes, it's dem vs. dem smear fest-- what the hell?

I digress. American people interests. Go. We are having a currency crisis and and oil crisis. And the socialist ghost of Global Warming is there but perhaps not as big as the media makes it out to be. But it is a concern more along the lines as, yes, we are wasteful but not the cause of G.W. (the sun is more powerful than man in the warming business)

Michael Savage has a few good points:

1) We get only 11% of our oil from the middle east. Perhaps Iraq can supply us more of their oil as a recognition of help by the US Troops-- a thanks to us as they thank many soldiers (but according to the disgusting wench Medea Benjamin, they are too afraid to say how they really feel, that they are ungrateful and really hate the US soldiers)

2) Make welfare recipients, who have a long history of "inability" to find a job, work the lettuce patches, pick berries, scrub toilets, etc. Those are the jobs that people say that illegal immigrants do and that America should be grateful for them since no American wants to do said jobs. But these are also the same people who say illegals are taking jobs away from Americans. get off your welfare ass and get to work! News flash! Illegal immigrants do not wake up one day and say, "my dream job is to scrub toilets in America!" but it's money and it must be done. 2 birds, 1 stone--Add jobs, delete welfare.


We have gone beyond political party. Stop with the feel-good notions and lets get back to the basics: our constitution. Our nation was founded on Capitalism and now we punish those who work hard for their money. (socialism doesn't work!) We are ungrateful for those who protect our freedoms by fighting overseas. Without them, we'd be trampled by our enemies and made slaves to their religion/culture.

Kick Like a Girl

It's been nice- I am back in Karate and Kickboxing. It's been almost four months since karate and about a year and a half since kickboxing so OUCH! Now that my needy and selfish friend is out of my life, I finally have time to do what I like to do. Also, my online class is going well and my job is working out. So all in all, it's a good day.

Obama? Obummer...

When I was in the waiting room at the eye doctor yesterday, I picked up People Magazine, the celebrity gossip magazine. They had 25 questions for Obama, all fairly personal about his daughters, kicking his smoking habit and even a few likes and dislikes. One of the questions was "Sonny & Cher or Donnie & Marie?" He answered, "Sonny & Cher, even though Sonny ended up Republican. I thought Cher was pretty hot."

Wait, is this the guy who also said he wants to unite the two political parties? What a winner. A liar AND a judgmental piece of crap. We should be so lucky...

A piece of advice Obama-- don't speak ill of the dead.
